Biodegradable Waste Management Project

At Öztiryakiler, we launched the Biodegradable Waste Management Project to support sustainability through eco-friendly practices. As part of this initiative, we partnered with İstaç, a subsidiary of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB), to begin collecting our food waste. These leftovers are regularly sent to İstaç, where they are biologically processed and recycled without harming the environment.

İstaç converts the gases produced by food waste into energy, while the remaining solid matter is turned into compost fertilizer. The water generated during the composting process is repurposed for irrigation. In this way, biodegradable waste is utilized for both energy production and water conservation. This project aims to improve waste management and minimize environmental impact.
